I came across an interesting video on CNBC Your Business, in which Gail Goodman, Constant Contact CEO, shares some tips on how to get more Facebook Likes. Here are a few of her tips:
- For businesses and particularly B2B, offer a special discount for your Facebook community only.
- "Like-gating" means that customers have to Like your page in order to receive a promotion, such as a free download, coupon, or book. Many third party apps can be used on this one -- I learned about Lujure recently and am going to try it out soon.
- Constant Contact also has new Social Campaign tools, designed for this purpose. An article in Small Business Trends provides a great preview of this new tool, and how it can be used both in the corporate and nonprofit worlds. Being a nonprofit "social mediaist," I'm eager to try this feature for fundraising and donation campaigns.

- Ask for the Like. A lot of businesses forget their FB visitors to Like a blog post entry or status update, but it can be that simple -- although I prefer a more organic vote, where people enjoy your content so much, the Like is just a natural part of the process.
*Don't forget integrated content management, and your other online tools including blog, website, other social media profiles, and print or offline communications, to crossmarket your Facebook page. Many businesses forget they can crossmarket in that way. And don't forget to engage your brsnd ambassadors-- those who are really excited about your brand and can help you spread the word.
So, what say you! Have you tried the Constant Contact Social Sharing feature yet, or have another program that worked well? Share in the comments here, or if course over on my Facebook Page.
